Location:Manasquan Inlet NJ

Finally got to take a break from my busy schedule that has had a hold of me and got the boat out yesterday. Went by myself to get away from everyone & everything, got to do it every once and awhile, its great for the body and soul.

Left the inlet, marked bait right away, nothing on it, decided to make a run north to the Shrewsbury Rocks where good Bluefish reports had been coming from. When I got there it was game on. Just about the whole fleet of head boats and about 40 private boats were in on the action.

After jigging up 5 fish, losing 2 jigs to the vicious jaws full of teeth, my arms were tired of cranking, time to troll for awhile. Out went 2 stretch 25's, one chartrus and one jointed blue & silver. Not long into the ride when BOTH rods went off at the same time. A lot of challenging fun for one guy to crank them in without tangling the whole thing up, and once at the boat, rod in one hand, gaff in the other, putting them on the deck. Great day on the water, nice Shark bait vacuum sealed in the bait freezer out in the garage.

About Fishin Dude
A little about me
I was born and raised in central NJ. My earliest fishing memories are catching Panfish with a cane pole, followed by Catfish with an old Zebco enclosed push button reel on a 3 ft pole using hotdogs as bait. Alot of time has passed since those days. I now travel to fishing locations by car, boat, or aircraft, instead of bycycle or a ride from my parents. I have met and swapped stories, tips, laughs, and tears with a variety of fishermen worldwide, from all walks of life, and made great friends too.
Asalt Weapon
Seaswirl Striper
21' Dual Console, 200 hp Yamaha 4 stroke, fish finder, chartplotter, livewell, anchor winch, fishboxes, porta potty, bbq, rodholders, music.
Surf Fishing
It's always nice to fish the beach, enjoy the sunrise, and catch a fish or two.
Go to Freshwater Top Water Lure
Rapala Skitter Pop
This is my go to top water lure that I have caught numerous species, both fresh and salt, all around the country.
Anything that swims
I will fish for anything, anywhere, anytime.
My targeted species
I'll actually fish for anything that swims, crawls, or even rests on the bottom , in any water, anywhere, anytime.
Bunker Chunks
When fishing Bunker Chunks for Stripers and Bluefish, I cut them into 4 sections. The head, fished on the bottom usally catches big stripers
Whiteleggers for Tautog
One of the best baits for winter Tautog fishing is hands down the Whitelegger crab. Fished whole, half, legs on/off, bite changes day by day
Green Crabs
Green crabs are a great, inexpensive bait that catches many species. Generally used for Tautog, I used them for Seabass, Cod, and Pollock.
I love vintage Penn Reels
I own alot of tackle, both modern and vintage, and fish with both. Old Penn Reels are my favorite, and if it's a lefty, even better.
