I almost didn't go fishing on this night. I was fishing this same spot the night before into the moring for not even a tap. I saw thousands of birds, and fish smashing bait. I got as close as I could but the action was just too far out to reach for the entire moring. When my shift was done Lou was signing on to do his shift...he did much better. The action got close while all maheem broke loose Just after I had to go home...story of my season.
The tide was right in the night they like to bite on, my shift was up (I can't fish the daytime like I need to be. Fall time bite mostly happen in the daytime, and I usually miss them) for the night. I was so discouraged from the daytime that I almost stayed home...I'm so glad I decided to push my way back to the spot. I managed to catch seven stripers from 8lbs to 16lbs on the Super Strike darter, and bottle. This fish was the last cast fish...I love it when that happens. If I didn't have to take my little girl Apple picking in two hours I would've stayed because the fish kept getting bigger...Lou came back for his shift and had the same bite the moring before. You have to love fishing in the fall...Stay Bent!
