Whenever the Cocktail's (15 inches) show up your almost guaranteed to have a blast. On this trip I was expecting to catch a striper but was OK with these toothy Cocktail Bluefish. I was testing out a new A27 with a glow in the dark tail just before a fish blew up on the tail as I was pulling it out of the water...My thought was ok the bass are now hear! I went with a 1.5 oz. bucktail tipped with a #70 rind...sharp tap with no hook up told me that cocktails are hear.

I find "cock tail" Bluefish can be a bit tricky to catch. They like to hit lures that are as life like as possible. I had an unmodified floating SP Minnow with me that was shinny in color that proved to be irresistible. I landed five in a hurry on my 9 foot Penn Prevail surf/Pursuit II 5000. I just love catching fish on this outfit...April 15th can't come fast enough. Catch'em up!
