Location:Montauk NY

Species:Porgy

The bite seemed to die off quickly at one point. I was curious as to how would such a good bite come to a complete stop just like that...then I looked up and saw a huge seal looking at me while cruising the shore line. Suddenly I had my answer, and moved on to another spot with no success. I eventually came back to this spot in an hours time to find the bite even hotter as the sun began to set. This porgy in the photo is a good example. I guess I missed the first hit, he was hooked, and then went for my second hook (hook on the left with bait still on it) I had one whole clam for my efforts, and was down to the scallops, but when darkness fell they seem to bite more but I was out of bait. Six Porgy’s in all, abd missing a bunch was a great effort...the tide is right to fish now so I changed it up to fish for Stripers, and blues. This is definitely on the agenda for waiting for the tide to change here on...Stay Bent!
