Fishing Report:
I have been skunked for well over a week. It's been very tropical and the fish have gone deep. Tonight I needed a mental break so if I didn't hook anything I would have been okay. This guy grabbed and ran for a bit. I dragged him through the weeds close to shore to get him out. He was covered nose to tail.

Fishing Report:
Braving the bugs and the risk of Zika (if you buy the hype down here) we sprayed down well with repellant and headed out after the storm passed. Lots of fish top feeding tonight. Got this guy close to shore. Could only stay out about an hour before the bugs started swarming.

Nothing wrong with some friendly competition, right? After I smoked hubby in the morning 5-0 we decided to rig our rods equally: jig head and an 1 1/2" minnow. First to catch something wins. Guess who won?

Fishing Report:
I had been at the pond for well over an hour. The sweat was pouring down me at 8:30 in the morning. I had reached the furtherest point of the lake and turned around to go home. If I saw something I would cast. Saw this guy surface so took a guess which direction he was heading. Got him. The only problem was he chomped my 3" minnow so deep there was nothing to grab to get the hook out. I was ever so patient but in the end he shook out of my hand with the hook in tow. I really hate when that happens. Would love any tips if you have them.

Fishing Report:
Number two catch came with an audience. A family was walking by and the young boy stopped to watch just as I hooked this guy up. The boy was cheering me all the way. As the mom moved him along I could still hear the kid talking, " Mom, did you see that. I want to go fishing." My job is done.

Fishing Report:
During yesterday's fishing adventure I watched my lures cross directly in front or even over about a dozen peacock bass just before sunset. They weren't buying what I was offering so it was off to the store today for something new. I settled for some 3" Gulp minnows. Apparently that did the trick. Got this guy at the ledge. There was one problem. I've never handled a peacock and my trusty assistant was not around. I finally settled him near the ground then got the hook out and scooted him back in the water. It was graceful bit it did the job.

Fishing Report:
Cloudy, dreary day, dodging rain showers throughout the afternoon. We headed to the canal first known for largemouth bass to avoid the showers to the east. Not a single nibble. When the shower passed we headed to the ICW to try our hand at saltwater fishing. The no-see-ums ate us alive. One last ditch effort to score a fish was at a freshwater lake. My first cast netted a Peacock Bass. Ten minutes later another. The bugs were insane! At least I got two before calling it a day.

After being shamed by Jimmy for using a bobber last week I got myself a Rebel Floating Minnow. Took awhile to get use to the line action but after a bit I got my first strike. Caught two peacock bass today. This one was the largest at 14".

Fishing Report:
FINALLY!!! This girl caught a fish! Clint and I have been fishing the canal behind our house for about a month. We were getting lots of lookers (clear water in FL) but no action. Today I went to a Gulp minnow shad hoping that even the smallest of fish would bite. After 3 or 4 cast this one took. Man I was so excited. After getting him safely back in the water my next cast hooked me a small 6" blue gill (had to look that up.) He jumped off the hook before I could grab him. Kept casting with fish jumping everywhere but I think the message was put out that wannabe fisherman were on the hunt so they simply mocked us. Still had a load of fun.
