Fishing Report:
Had my buddy Stuart Creighton out Thursday chasing trout – managed to find a few really nice ones thanks to a good friend who will remain anonymous as well as where he sent me!
Tagged 5 up to 21 inches and none under 17 ½ and keep one that inhaled to Hot Olive!
And this damn pelican wanted to get hooked – tried to eat my bait. On the bad side – it had a mangled left foot!
More fun to come as water is reaching into 60s. Give me a call.

Fishing Report:
Great time on the water today with Brother Harry Cosner and his nephew Rick Cleveland of Cocoa Beach Florida.
They did well getting my DOA jigs to the bottom and hanging up on stumps! Oh well, the rock came along with it.
They had several each with most under slot and 2 going 23 and 23 ½. My gut tells me the rock are easing down river but the wind shut my top water effort down to see.
Next week is booked and getting cobia calls – Lets Go!

Fishing Report:
What a DOA Morning – no boats around – calm and warm except water – 49 degree and muddy.
Had a great rod bending with rock from 18-26 inch caught on DOA 3” shad tails, 4” Jerk shad and the new 4” shad tail. Take your pick! Used a ¼ oz chartreuse DOA jig head with short shank on 3” shad tails, 4” Jerk shad and Long shank on new 4” shad tail.
Thump! Then in the boat after a good run in the strong current. Sure would be nice to keep the middle slot fish though – 23, 24 and 26.
Thanks to Bob Bruggeworth and nephew Aric Bruggeworth for a great morning of fun.

Fishing Report:
The Big Drum are here for the big spawn - a little slow getting in river this year but making a better showing now. I have been catching on lighter tackle; ie 7' TFO H and MH Signature rods with Daiwa Lexa 3500 Reel spooled with 170 yards of Fins Windtamer 30# Braid. For bait you I throw a DOA Deadly Combo Popping Cork rigged with a DOA Airhead and VMC Drop Dead weighted hook. Gets the job done with a great fight but brings drum to boat so as not to harm him or her. Bait such as fresh mullet can also be used by setting up on ledges and soaking bait on Lupton rigs and using heavier gear such as Daiwa Opus Plus 5500 combo.

Season will run through September with some fish hanging around area into October as water temps drop.

Fishing Report:
I sure am glad I have my new 23 Key West Bay Reef. Tuesdays trip out with the Colonel and his family would not have happened in 196. Windy and more people – it was a custom trip that I never would have imagined turned out as it did.
Colonel Dennis O’Neil was aboard with his son Owen and brother in law Aden Mahoney Sr, his sons Aden Jr and Jack. They were extremely polite and alert to what I said and man did they catch some drum – and I mean upper slot rod bending tuggers. We ended up also getting a slam with 1 16” trout and 16” flounder. Great day had even in less than desirable wind conditions – Key West all the way.
Oh, as you see in family shot – the Colonel was toughing it out in a full boot and crutches – can’t hold a good man down! Thanks for your service.
Want to take this action on – call me ----- Big Drum just around corner and filling up – get your date in

and sponsors. No BIG fish for me this year but snook, trout, jack, and
lady fish were eating. Need a guide in the Florida Guides Association area - call me and I will hook u up.

Fishing Report:
Short windy scout trip looking for some action for 7 year old scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
I found some drum and a nice slot rock fast – hope they will still be hungry Saturday! First drum hit the Rapala Twitchin Rap coming to the boat at 18 ½ inch. Switched up to Johnson spoon to try for more drum and first cast brought in the 16” under slot. Then a short move and hit something hard; 22 inch rock hit the spoon on a TFO 6’6” Light action rod and gave me a fit.
Fishing action getting good – lets go!
