A Fair Day of Fishing
Nice size Pompano were hitting to day and a few sea mullet showed up to round out the dinner menu. Caught on fresh shrimp and live sand fleas.

The Power was out and so were the Pompano
During my stay in the outer banks the power went out in the lower part of the island. This action may have stopped a lot of things but it didn't stop the Pompanos from hitting Not super size fish but definitely pan size. Also a few sea mullet showed up. They evacuated the lower part of Hatteras due to the power outage.

Hungry Pompanos
Early morning fishing down Avon resulted in some nice size pompano caught on fish bite sand flee flavor and on real sand flee and Clam flavored fish bite water was murky and water was warm and winds out the west. Also caught some sea mullet .
I'll be vacationing in Nags Head the rest of the week. Any Stackfish members in the area who would like to wet a hook with the NC Crew hit me up.
Always tight lines

While cast netting Mullet off of the beach at Island Beach State Park here in New Jersey, this small fish located below the Mullet in the photo came out of the net. I was unsure of what it was, so I released it after a few photos. Well I had forgotten about it until last week when I decided to get an official identification of it. Turns out it is a juvenile Florida Pompano, probably spawned at sea and rode some warm currents to the Jersey Shore, far north of its normal range, or could it signal a shift north due to rising ocean temperatures?

Warm fall sunrise yielded one Pompano and one bluefish on the same rig. Always a joy to be on the beach at dawn. The rest of the day yielded a few more blues And black drum, all under size as my luck would have it. Headed back this weekend for some more!

This was from when I first moved down to florida and went on a trip while I visited fort Lauderdale, this was a beautiful African pompano. 2 inches short of 24. wish I had taken a better picture of it, the mate took the hook off and threw it back in the water before I could say anything. it was a cool looking fish
