Finally hooked a few
Caught two nice ones during my club tournament over the weekend. Typical square bill cranks were not working so I had to slow it down with a few different plastics.

My Lunker face. Oh oh oh
Almost won Lunker but it sure felt good to throw a nice sized bass on the scale for once

CanuckCongratulations! How close did you come to the Lunker award? You also win the award for "Best use of a laundry tub". The prize is a kitchen pass for your next fishing trip.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
Won my first bass tourney as a rider. Wooooooo! I'm pumped. Slow morning but the bite picked up later in the day. Caught these jigging a crawfish.

Wait this is a bass tournament!? Doh!
While fishing for bass I landed my first yellow perch ever in life on the most random lure ever. *shrug* well that's one way to start weeding out lures in the old tackle box. Note to self any lure that hooks anything but bass chuck it 😁🤔

CanuckLooks like a nice size Perch. Keep the lure, I have caught yellow perch on the very same lures that catch bass. Besides Yellow (and White) Perch can put up a great fight for their size and are fairly tasty.

Landed my first keeper during my club tourney on a Carolina Rig. Tough day of fishing on the flats glad I resorted to the old school Carolina rig proven tactic for catching largemouth when there's a slow bite. I won second place on the rider side most of the guys blanked :)

The fishing prediction for today on my Stackfish App was 4 out of 5 stars and I have to say it was spot on! The fish were on fire and were so thick at one spot we couldn't help but foul hook them.

The fishing prediction in the Stackfish app is based on Solunar calendar theory which has been helping people catch more fish for a very long time.

Here's my brother with today's smallest catch, a three inch fish foul hooked by accident.

Schooled by my brother again Shad fishing on the Susky. This time it was 5-0 , but I think I may have figured out what's going on. I don't do that much Shad fishing so I just grab a couple of rigs that look like they may do the job and head out the door.

This time he was fishing a dart with a flutter spoon dropper on mono. I was fishing the same style dart with another dart as the dropper on braid (no leader). He was getting fish on the dart as well as the spoon. I think I may have had one hit all evening on my rigs.

Conventional wisdom says that Shad are not leader shy but I'm not so sure. My brother was forthcoming with the technique he was using and I'm usually a pretty quick study. l still couldn't find any action. At the end of the evening, he switched to an alternate rig to try and catch some panfish. I picked up his rig with the dart and flutter spoon and had a solid hit on the first cast. Naturally it was on his tired dropper and the fish broke the line.

Are Shad leader shy, I'm not sure but you can bet that the next time we go Shad fishing, I'll be spooled up with some flouro and have a flutter spoon dropper on my rig.

Here's my brother proving once again that he's a better Shad fisherman than me. He really knows how to work a tandem rig of Shad darts catching 3 or 4 Shad that day. All l I could manage to catch was a couple of White Perch and a dink Striper.
