Another blast from the past..... While in Canada on a. fly in trip I caught this 18 lbs Northern Pike who was strong enough to pull and turn a 14 ft boat. And this not even considered a big one up there....

P.S. My phone keeps putting the present date for catch date for this pic.......

CanuckHey William! Nice Pike! I am from Canada and have caught many of those "old reliables". I've never caught one on a fly rod though. How long did that fight last? I am surprised he didn't cut the leader. Those teeth are sharp.

Jimmy @canuck Have you ever eaten a northern? I've seen some videos guys in Minnesota talking about how good they are once you learn how to filet the. Correctly.

williamFillets are tricky Northerns like any other Pike have a long Yshape bone that runs down the middle. It's easier to pull the bone out while eating it. They very good to eat.

This is a throw back picture from summers past. Our Canadian fly in trips to the out post camps in Canada. One way in and 1 way out by Seaplane. Fishing for Big Walleye. The Canadians call them Dore' for there golden color This was a 6 am catch it was my turn to catch breakfast
