There the wind was howling so badly there was white caps in the canal and my casts landed 15-20 feet off my intended mark. Another hour of our lives passed without even a sighing of a fish (remember we are in FL and can see through our water) so we headed to our neighborhood canal where I lost five lures over the weekend. Surely with the new rig with the buried tip I couldn't possibly snag this one. Third cast and I caught the ledge. Snap!
Back at the house I put more line on the reel depleted from all the lost lures. This girl was determined to snag herself a fish by sunset so it was back out only this time I put my trusty shad swimmer back on the line. First cast, nothing. Second cast, nibbles. Third cast, strikes. Forth cast, the wind caught my line and I didn't set quick enough and the line began unraveling from the middle of the reel. Hurrying to untangle because I had fish waiting for me, I made the situation worse. By this time the sun was setting and the mosquitoes were the only thing biting. Foiled again!
