Better late than ever. First stripe bass of 2016. Damn work!

Many have put their gear away for the season...the thing is this season is not over yet...so I'm still fishing while I can. The off season is LONG! The fish are still around so why not fish? I leave shows in there place...the off season. Even though I might miss more than I normally would because I've got plenty projects to work on/complete before the 2017 season starts up. I mentality can't put my gear away just yet knowing I could get another PB fish for the 4th time this season...Stay Bent!

Unfortunately, most of us were at the show, while Lou and I acted on a gut feeling about the possibility of blitzes happening somewhere given weather conditions. So, we acted on that hunch and found blitzes all day and got them on poppers. When it got dark the Darter took over.

I have spent a week poking around looking for fish in my area. It seems the cold weather we had for the last week has pushed a good amount if not all the migratory fish into their southern patterns. Plus with that huge fish kill that happened in the Shinnicock canal adult bunker seem to be scares. This could only mean one thing...it's time to take another trip to NJ for the second wave of fish! We were into fish within three cast, and the fish on peanuts were moving fast the entire morning. The fish left all the bait alone for some odd reason only returning here and there. The End is near but I hope to catch a few more decent fish before the dreaded 12/15/16 end to the NYS Striper season...Stay Bent!

JimmyDoes this tourney have a website? Is "Sundie" just a different name for Fluke or Flounder or is it really a different species? Thx

Ctf4600Sundials are there own species they are from the fluke and flounder family. The tournament was the last one of the season. You can go to www.asaconline.com and check them out we do about 13 tournaments a year. The schedule for 2017 won't out till Feb.
